Is this something to be concerned about, getting AP before EAD , both are of course 124 days since receipt date.
I don't know. It is just puzzling that some people got both while others only got one. What is the basis for approving AP?

Not bad, got visa approved same day. This was my 7th year H1 extension, while I485 is pending, applied last year July..
Got appointment a month before. Consulate automatically checks for PIMS verification within next 2-3 days..I got banamex receipt made by Mexican assistance services, in fact there are many people / company willing to get this receipt made for nominal charges..
Drove to Nogales, AZ. Parked car in one of the parking lot. Cross border by foot through revolving door. No one is there to check any immigration paper for Mexico. People from India do need visa to visit Mexico but rule seems to be bit vague. To visit US consulate in Nogales, one can get local tourist permit (which can be obtained at POA in Mexico immigration. I got Mexico visa for 6 month multiple entry through local Mexican consulate in US. In retrospect, probably I wasted time and money for nothing..No one bothers to check any documents in Mexico, in fact I have look hard to find someone in immigration to stamp my entry in Mexico..
Anyway, got Cab for $7 to US consulate. Reached there at 7.30am. Appointment time was at 8am. But this doesn't matter as consulate will let all Mexican labor visa applicant to go in first (approx 150 of them). I stood in line for about 2 hours, finally got in at 9.30. Process was smooth from there on..got biometrics / photo done and then interview for 2 minutes..IO didn't ask much, just few simple questions..Didnt even check any extra document. I was advised to come at 3 pm to collect visa which I did. (Spent 4 hours -11am to 3pm in nearby Nogales mall)
Got return cab to border. Took about 30 minutes get new I 94 made. Entered Nogales, AZ comfortably. Car was still parked safely...Returned home happily...Will continue to wait from GC, stuck in PD of April 2006 in EB2
All the best to you all...

I think many doctors earned a lot of money during that period. The same thing happened with us with the INS Doctor. Though we had our TB skin tests done 3 months before, the doctor said "No that will not work, the requirement for INS is different" After that he said we need x-rays too, though our earlier reports were normal. But what to do, at that time all were in a hurry.

I had written 2 long posts in the past detailing my own views on how to hire an attorney and how to deal with them when you hire them. You may want to go through them in the threads. If someone can dig them we can try to create a thread dedicated on 'advice when you hire an attorney'. I have myself seen enough bad attorneys (both big and small firrms) and the posts were written based on my experiences and experiences of my friends.

I am on EAD and will be closing my loan (refinance) this week. I had explained my immigration status to the broker upfront, and they had no objection to moving with the loan. My lender is US Bank.

Great shot. I like the second one with the red accent a little better. As far as spending money for studio equipment, take a look at Alien Bees studio lights. They are a subsidiary of White-Lightning and really work great. Reasonably priced, too. I think their web site is www.alienbees.com (http://www.alienbees.com)

Guys,
If one IV member moves from State A to B, what would be the process of transferring membership to state chapter?
Will it merely be a deleting datbase record from one state and adding it to another state? Or would it be again filling up survey to new state chapter..?
Thanks.
If you are moving to the Tri State Area - we will give you a red carpet welcome into our chapter :)

AILA has suggested two ways that everyone can let their voice be heard.
1. Flood congressional inboxes and phone lines: Take 30 seconds to send our pre-scripted CIR support letter to your senators and representatives, and then forward the link to all your pro-immigrant friends. Or pick up the phone and make a personal pitch in support of CIR to congressional staff. You will find the pre-scripted letter and phone numbers for congressional offices at our Congressional Action and Information Center at: http://capwiz.com/aila2
2) Talk to your elected officials: Attend a local town hall meeting and let your senators and representatives know you support humane and comprehensive reform. You will find a Town Hall Calendar at http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=20340, and our Town Hall Tool Kit at http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=20175

Hi,
My wife's H4 visa got expired in jan 2008 and I renewed her I-94 and I-94 got extended till 2010.
Next week she is travelling back to India throgh Lufthansa airlines from portland to Frankfurt to Chennai. Some people are telling that getting transit visa in Frankfurt airport is difficult if visa stamping got expired eventhough you have valid I94. Is it correct?
I have two questions here.
1 Is really transit visa required, as just she needs to catch another flight in other terminal in the same airport?
2. If transit visa required will it be problem if her visa stamping got expired ( But she has vaild I797 and I-94 documents ).
Please help me by answeringthese questions.
Regards,
Brahma Reddy

My H1-B extension was filed on June 3 2010 requesting for additional 3 years (after the 1st 6 yrs). My labor and I-140 were also approved. The case has been pending since then. It has been more than 5 months now. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar delays? My I-797 has expired in September and I'm still working on the basis of the pending application.
Thanks in advance.
Which center did you apply to? I had applied to VSC for my H1 renewal under regular processing (9-12th year) RD Aug 5, 2010. The case is yet under initial review.
Secondly, I have also applied for H1 transfer with CSC RD Oct 27, 2010 again under regular processing. The case is under initial review.
I have heard H1 extensions & transfers are taking anywhere between 4 to 6 months.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am currently in the 6th year of my H1B. My visa is going to expire in at the end of December. Is it too late for me to start applying for the green card? If it is not too late, what is my status going to be after December if I do apply for the green card now? Also, I have heard that I have to apply a year before my visa expires, is it too late now? Please help! Your response is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Keith
it's not too late. ask your lawyer to get labour thru perm. it'll take about 2 months and then you can do I140 in premium which takes 15 days. you can then get a 3 yr extension.
