Is this supposed to be cribbing, just for the heck of it? In what way can getting a 2 yr EAD be bad news?
For EB ROW, if they issue 1 yr EAD...does tht mean their 485s are not approved for at least 1 yr?
Received 2 year EAD card in email. Card is valid from jul 30th 2008 to jul 29th 2010. My PD is current.(May 06). Dont know if this is good news or bad news.

I am also an NCS-CSC-NSC transfer. Got LUDs on 2/10 on my/my wife's application. I just got an email saying an RFE was sent just for my application.
Anyone else that got RFEs after getting LUDs at the beginning of Feb? What were the RFEs for?

Here comes one more preacher. Most people on this forum are no saint, they not even a man (or woman) enough to stand up for themselves.
We are a Union and thats how a union works that is actively supporting the cause of its members.
If one is stupid enough not to understand that we are trying to help everyone and thus this "one help" need to be demanded then god help that person.
Understood, we all may have problems but those could be solved with whatever our share of work we can do to support this cause.
If someone says that they don't know what IV policies and activites are and blames that nobody explained to them. Well... thats a lame excuse. It is very much on the front page of IV

1. This site has an open forum where not only active members of IV, but other people (cowerds, that is what you think, you out-spoken fellow) also seek advice, share their experiences and hence help each other. And mind you, because of these all people, IV and this site also get so much popular.
2. The other point is WHY YOU PUSH SO MUCH FOR HELP. I think everybody understands the efforts of IV, but let the person decide himself/herself whether he/she wants to give money, go to DC ralley or not. Help is not demanded.
3. Please mind your language. I don't know why you have so much of anger and you use abusive, disturbing language for others. Its very easy to say a F* word, but very difficult to sort out others problems in decent and graceful manner. I don't think any group like IV (CARE, CRY and hundreds of NGOs in India) will push people like you do.
4. And people like you are shame for a group like IV (please ask pappu too to confirm) who spread negativity like you did in this thread.

I called USCIS NSC yesterday and asked if my new approved I-140 was interfiled with my pending I-485. The IO asked me for my A# and then told me that she doesn't see the new I-140 starting with SRC on the system. She only sees the original I-140 with the LIN. It was very frustrating to hear this as I had called NSC a week before and the IO told me that the new I-140 is in the system and visa was available for me. However, I remembered that last week the IO did not ask me for my A#. She only asked for the receipt numbers of my pending I-485 and the new I-140.
Friends, what else can I do to make sure that my newly approved I-140 under EB2 is interfiled?
Speaking from my case, I called NSC for the same reason multiple times and every time the information I got (now looking back) was either useless or insignificant. Only one procedural info I got once was correct. They informed me that when you Interfile, your request goes into your file and no receipt or any other update is done to your case. When your 485 app RD becomes current and an IO picks up the case to work on it, should consider the Interfiling request. If your PD is then current due to the Interfiling request and every other detail on your 485 app is complete, your case is approved immediately. That is exactly what happened to my case. Calling them is less fruitful and more frustation. I only called them once a month after they changed their processing dates for the month just in the hope I may get lucky with an IIO who may give some info. Never did. I also took an Infopass, but that was fruitless too, as they also could not provide any information. Just asked me to wait until my RD becomes current.
Hope this gives you some perspective and lowers your anxiety.

If Republicans control the House, they will be too bitter because they can't repeal the Health Care Reform, and will not let CIR pass in 2011. Best hope is 2012 now. Obama could have easily passed CIR in past 2 years, instead he focused all his efforts on health care..

So, in reality, there is no CIR...now or ever.

If you had filed a new EVL at the time of doign AC-21, USCIS knows that the I-140 revocation does not mean the end of the road, you have actually ported over to someone and he intends to hire you. Note that even 180 days past your 485 filing, you still need SOME employer to sponsor a same/similar job. (unless you are exceedingly brave and are going to self-port)

Thanks for greaat posts, everyone. Just to follow up with Jaime's point it is tru that we are not all from India or Aisia in general. I guess I should have mentioned that. I am from a northern place - from Russia. Actually I was born and raised in one of the southern former Soviet republics, which had relatively warmer climate. But I lived for over 5 years in Russia before coming here. I just mention that, because I read it the cold Canadian weather seems to be the number one downside. It is not such a big deal to me or my wife, because it was as cold or perhaps even colder back home.
Just as Jaime I am not here just for ecenomic reasons. I wuld be better off (financially) back home. I guess we are in search of better life (qualitatively), and that is why I am wondering about Canada.
And perhaps due to somewhat European backgraund I seem to have nostalgia for European flare sometimes; hence the questions about Montreal (which I presume is a bit more European that TO).
I guess I would like to put a streignt question to those who lived in or familiar with Canada.
- I am from a Northen Country (even leave in Northeast here in US).
- I worked full time for 5 years in US (plus a year of internship)
- My field is Not IT though, it is in business (data analysis, finance, supply chains, etc)
- My in English is quite good (for and immigrant especially)
- I have some basic knowledge of French and willing to learn more
- I have a Masters degree (few actually) from US universities
- As I mentioned I have a family including kids.
My question is - what do you think my chances are in Canada in general, and in Montreal specifically?

I think you are right. EB3 india might be stuck for very long time. Remember all the 2001 DOL backlog cases from NY, NJ and CA? And how long BEC took to clear them? They are all waiting to get into the EB queue.
In the previous month, EB3-INDIA date was April22nd,2001. Now it moved to May8th2001. Now, the people with PD's from April22rd2001 to May7th2001 are eligible to apply or ready for adjudication of 485. That means, probably, there are lot of 485(245i) cases to be adjudicated? What do you all think?

In several responses people have compared MBA and PMP, I don't these two are comparable. Any thoughts?
I am not sure why the 2 are being compared. One is a professional degree while the other is a certification. MBA prepares you (in theory) for several different jobs (marketing, finance, ops, general mgmt etc.) while PMP is primarily to "check the box" on program management. With all due respect to the PMPs (and other PM credentials) I havent seen any additional skills that PMP provides.
Yes- I have an MBA and a PM certification and work with several IT PMs/techies but an not in IT myself.
