IV doest evaluate posts of members or give more or less importance to quantity or quality of posts.
The software we use for forums (Joomla) is preconfigured to make a person "Senior member" when he/she posts 100 messages.
IV core group or leadership doesnt have any interest in rating the quantity or quality of any posts from any members.

Generating receipt may take 7-8 days but if they open it
Monday June 25th they may reject it saying its not current .... ??
That rejection will probably come back after 7 days too :-)
Interesting question. Since they are taking 8-10 days or more to generate receipts perhaps we can send papers in now and hope they generate a receipt in the first week of July.

Hello all,
Could someone who are recently travelled via London Heathrow, please let me know what all should be done in order to obtain the DATV visa?
My flight stops there for under 2 hours (for cleaning and refuelling), and I was told I need to get the DATV since my visa expired and my approved AP alone is not enough.
Though I have gone through the required websites, i would still appreciate info from any one who recently experienced getting the DATV and travelling via London. Do I need to send I-485 receipt notice original and EAD as well?
Or is it enought to send the online application, passport, photo and AP originals?
Is there anyway to do everything in person, including handing over documents?
Also, it would be great if you could let me know how long it took to get the visa and your documents back!
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

These responses are based on my experience:
Make sure you are counting 180 days after you get the EAD Card (based off the valid date on the EAD Card) - like my lawyer says, its USCIS and they have no clue as to what they are doing. In such an event, you will be fully covered.
You can work anywhere you want to. You can use EAD as your proof of status and eligibility to work. Note that, you should ensure that you get your EAD Card renewed very religiously. Any lapse in renewal could be effectively used against you. Oh, it is also called Work Permit and normally, the employer asks for it during filling up your I-9.
Besides that, you are not required by law to do anything more. You might get called for AOS interview where you might be asked questions about your employment (I never did). But that is just a formality. I have read in forums about filing AC21, but my lawyer said such things were optional (in my case since I joined the client from the service provider). You should chill out and enjoy the job. Good luck.

if your employer ( who filled I 140 ) revoke I 140 then chances are there that you may get RFE while H1b transfer. You need good lawer advise. Also there is gray area for porting PD if I 140 is approved and revoked.
My current employer (who's the consulting company) is the one negotiating to let me go fulltime with the client. So, they shouldn't revoke the 140.

on the list of IV issues is legislation to require employers to share immigration documentation.
If you don't trust your sponsor then I would recommend finding a new one. You will be in position for many years where you need a sponsor that you can trust.
You will certainly want to get a copy of the I140 when that is eventually filed. You may have a long wait before you can file for I485, and you will need the I140. Some employers held people's feet to the fire to get a copy of the I140.

Guess what you should only travel by First class, If you travel by economy they will catch you..... :))
Jokes aside, You should be ok your H1B extension/stamping has nothing to do with which Airlines you travel, How many stops you will make etc.. Some countries have restrictions if you don't have valid visa during transit. Check with Airlines.

There are 2 reasons that I thought of for not applying / renewing.
1) I'm not planning on going anywhere after / atleast for a year.
2) My wife's AP filed last year took Six months to get approved and what happens if you fly out while your AP is pending / sent for renewal. I read in this forum, not fly out, while you AP is pending.
Appreciate your time.

Has anybody recently applied for a Schengen Visa, if yes, can you please let me know what you did for the travel insurance. The insurance from my employer (Humana) says they cover international but do not have a letter that states the same and Swedish consulate website says the letter should specifically say "International Coverage".
What are my options. Can you guys suggest where I can buy the insurance from.
Talk to some senior guy in Humana. They have three templates. One of them has International Coverage in it. I had this problem in 2005. I was able to get the letter after talking his supervisor.

I am also a relatively old timer ( PD Nov. 2002 ). Unfortunately stuck in namecheck since Aug.2006. My fellow Indians say , i can just sit like this for another 2 - 3 years in name check :-(
