    I guess I wasn't shocked when I saw this story, but I have to say it depressed me. The AP reports that Derby Line, Vermont and Stanstead, Quebec, really one town that happens to straddle a border, is now installing security gates to physically separate the community.

    Thanks for starting this thread. I have just sent all the four letters even though I am not planning to use the AC21. But I feel sorry for fellow EB's who got rejected because few IO did not know about the AC-21. I get really :mad: P***** O** to see that ppl who are playing by rule have to face hardship at freak'n every stage of GC.

    I had a opt which expired on the 9th. of november and on june 08 i applied to start green card process with help of a lawyer.I have a master degrees from the US and my lawyer told me that i did not need to apply for a H1 visa or a work permit and could directly go for green card. we started the process in june 08 and I applied to eta 9089 on september 08 and could not get any reply back for almost 5 months. My lawyer tells me that it is normal to not get an answer for so long even thought I think we had to get an answer in 3 to 4 weeks after september. Now, my lawyer suggests me to go back to my country as my status will be put of satatus and I could continue my green card process from back home.

    I would like to know if my lawyer is telling me the truth or my lawyer made any mistake..

    I need help!!!

    Hi there,

    I got my FP done yesterday in Newark,NJ ASC. But online status only shows LUD on I-485 case.. I've applied EAD and AP too, but don't see LUD on them.

    Also, in ASC they give you form to fillout, I only put my I-485 receipt number on it, should I have put all three receipt numbers?.

    Any thoughts,

    Hi ,

    I was working for company A and got my labor and I-140 approved and then i changed to company B. My priority date is jan 2005. Is there any way that i can continue my green card process with company A. WOuld be of great help if somone can tell me if there is any way to do it.
    Why did you quite your previous employer when they got your I-140 approved?

    Guys,

    Need some urgent help. I just efiled my AP for myself, my spouse and my child and when I was done doing it, I noticed that it generated a notice number starting LINXXXXXXX. My problem is this - when I originally filed my I-485 last year during july fiasco, I was located in CA. But currently I am in Texas. That was the address that I input in the application too. But I am not sure why it generated a receipt # with LIN number. May be it was because of the question as to where my 485 is currently pending. The reason I am worried is because, when I filed my EAD exten (thru my lawyer), he had mentioned that he sent the EAD application wrongly to Nebraska instead of sending it to Texas (since I am in texas now), he made me re-do the application and sent it to texas and got me a SRC number for EAD extn. Now, do you think that I am in the right path? Do I need to send the supporting documents to Nebraska or Texas? Or is my AP application fees gone for good. Please help, as this is making me worried too much. Thanks.

    Hi,

    I submitted my 485/765/131 application in May this year and my 485 is pending. I received my EAD but I got an email from CRIS saying that there is an RFE on my AP. The RFE email was on July 13th but my lawyer still hasn't received the RFE. How long does it typically take to receive the RFE?

    Takes some time for RFE to come to the lawyer around 2 weeks or so.RFE might be on photographs or colour visa copy so chill.

    Did anyone file your own AC21, i have moved to a new company and its a similar kind of position, my case is pretty straight forward, should i file it by myself or use an attorney. the attorney's asking for good $$$$

    With EAD, or AP for travel, it is important to apply renewal of documents exactly 120 days prior to current document�s expiration date. If you file the renewal application earlier than 120 days prior to expiration, the USCIS may deny the application. In your case, if AP expires July, then return before the date to avoid issues. Plus, if EAD is current, then there should be no problem with entering U.S again. I am out of work and not risking it with out of country travel. Check with lawyer. That is important. Two years back, I returned with AP and faced questions at the airport. Check with lawyer before leaving. Why we do these hoop is known only to the almighty. Better to love someone here and settle with life. I am exhausted with all such documents. I have delayed marriage for GC.

    What questions did you face at the airport? Was your AP valid when you returned or had expired. Was your EAD valid when you returned? I am thinking of traveling with my family in next few months and my docs are all valid till end of this year. Would that pose any problems?

    The security officer did not ask anything about him.I was allowed to go with my son.There was no problem.

    I have a question regarding Future Employment salary start date because my current salary is a little bit lower then the salary in PERM
    and I-140.
    I have approved PERM and I-140 with priority date in December 2005.

    I'm going to apply 485 and probably EAD in July.

    The future job salary in my approved PERM and I-140 is $30/hour

    At present time I earn $29/hour.

    When does my employer should start to pay $30/hour?
    1) Before I submitted 485
    2) After I submitted 485
    3) After I submitted EAD
    4) After I got EAD approval
    5) After I got 485 approval

    Dec. 06 expired a lettler that USCIS send to my employer but we never received the lettler, it was a wrong information for the address my boss was talking with an officer of USCIS and she reported electronically to Nebraska about this problem, we send just in case last Friday again all the documents with the I-140 we don't know what evidence they need, but the thing is that we have to wait ; we don't have a lawyer everything was fine the only problem was that we never received a letter about the I-140 because the address omit the suite number do you think that no matter what we have to find a lawyer ...or just wait... the adjusment was submit in May 2006.

    This was the first time I called up the USCIS help desk (1-800-375-5283) to find about AC21 180 days rule, when she asked what is this for I informed for change of employer.
    I would like to know if that statement would be noted and would it create me any problems in future, as of now I don�t have any plans to change employer.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    My Case Details:
    PD: EB2- 2006.
    I-140 Cleared.
    EAD: Received.
    FP: Completed

    Yes, they would record your call but I dont see it creating any problems in the future as long as you satisfy the AC21 conditions if/when you change jobs.
