Lets just say the announcement is that you can apply EAD/AP once your LC is cleared. Then just like usual USCIS will spend there time precocessing these new applicants and you will have to wait 1 yr just to get EAD/AP.

Well they will easily find out from your SSN number if one is on payroll or not. I am seriously looking into this matter of getting illegal and many of my friends agree. Once the bill passes in its current form we should get advise from a good lawyer to convert status from legal to illegal. It sounds so insane when I say changing for legal to illegal..but that is the hit thing these days.
I might offend a few here but I see an obvious analogy and I am going to point it
Converting from legal to illegal is like in India You did not get admission through regular/normal seat so one converts himself to SC,ST, OBC(reservation) and get admission through fake certificate :) at a lower percentage and no fees

That was a very illogical reply to the per-country limit question. How come a large number of people from certain countries automatically eliminate people from smaller countries from getting green cards? That's an extremely dumb way of looking at it.
If you remove the limits, yes most of the cards will go to people from India and China, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE #$@!$ING BACKLOGGED FOR DECADES DUE TO THE LIMITS!!

You can bring UP TO 4 spouses on H4 visa. That's why it is called H4. Similarly on F2, you can only bring 2 spouses, Ah...students do not make that kind of money to support more than 2 spouses. USCIS thinks so much about us.

Eb2 will move gradually but it may move up to 2006 or 2007 as Eb1 spill over and Eb1 and Eb2 spillover from other countries will be transferred to Indian and Chinese Eb2. Again it depends on how many people are waiting in Eb2
I do not have the numbers in front of me, but I think the EB1 spillover numbers have been reduced over time. EB1 gets lot of usage in the EB1C (multinational managers) for India.

Hi Shamu,
A colleague/friend of mine and his wife decided to have a home delivery. So, they contacted this nurse practitioner/midwife, who used to come to his home once a month and do all the stuff that goes along with pregnancy. They also delivered the baby at his home, which took off all the expense that are associated with a hospital delivery and I'm pretty sure the entire cost for the 9 month term was <5K (actually around 2-3K).
But I believe that was possible because it was a normal delivery with no complications.
So, if you and your wife are in the same situation as most of the people here (i.e. late 20's or early to mid 30's ) there is no reason why you would not have a normal uncomplicated delivery. So having a home delivery is an option.
I am a father of a 15 month old and felt that most of the months that we went to visit the doctor was pretty superficial. They did not tell us anything which you cannot find out from the internet or the maternity books. Who delivered my daughter in the hospital? Well a nurse did.
Also in India my wife told me that most often women don't go to the doctor unless there are issues. (For the period leading up to the delivery. For delivery they go to the doctor.)
So, for uncomplicated deliveries a home delivery could be an option, just check it out and the nurse practitioners (OBGYN variety)/midwives are fully qualified and sometimes more experienced than the doctors as that is ALL they do, they deliver babies.
So check this option if you feel it is OK.
Good luck with your insurance search.

I guess since no one wants to do anything about their situation - we can all sit back and wait for another 4-5 years and hope that we get a green card at that time since that is the amount of time it is going to take most of us if nothing was to change in the current process. It looks like NSC has slowed down a bit on EAD processing. I am seeing many posts where folks e-filed their EAD renewals in the 1st week of July 2008 and are still waiting for the FP appointments notice.

I am also an NCS-CSC-NSC transfer. Got LUDs on 2/10 on my/my wife's application. I just got an email saying an RFE was sent just for my application.
Anyone else that got RFEs after getting LUDs at the beginning of Feb? What were the RFEs for?

You mean to say that "Those who have EAD with PD 2006/2007" needs green Card and you dont bother about PD 2000-2005 from Backlog who never got a chance to apply i-485 ?
Moral: Allow the people to suffer who are suffering and let others make merry(PD 2006-2007).
I am just giving my observations. I (and most of the people here) know the pain in waiting on H1-B. Definitely the ability to file I 485 desrves higher priority.

There has to be reason why greencard holder been deported likely due to some illegal act. Here we are law abiding resident waiting for our legal status in legal ways.
