It looks like you are getting glare from glass or something. Get as close to the glass as you can and the lens as perpendicular as possible. A dark cloth and duct tape to put it up with would get you two things: (1) ability to block glare from lights behind you and (2) hide you from the birds so they settle down.
I've actually put the camera on a tripod and draped a large towel over it and my head/torso for camoflage, which let me stand outdoors and get closer without scaring them away. But I don't do that much because it's really tiring standing there, motionless :)
For the most part, a flash doesn't seem to bother birds much and it's a great help - you get better contrast and a faster shutter.

It would be not hard to make an IV facebook application that contains
- an install page,
- a page where our core issues can be listed and members can express support for each issue
- a page where running issues can be listed and members can sign petitions online (see capital fraternal caucus app as they push their greek related issues via Patton Boggs in Washington)
- and optionally a facebook bolstered discussion board.
The newsfeed feature/invite friends should help viral spread of the app.
A member suggested that it maybe a good idea to have IV presence on facebook. This will help increase our publicity among our friends whom we can recommend to join. Our aim is to get as much publicity and membership at this time so that we can succeed in our upcoming campaigns.
We have a group called 'Immigration Voice' on Facebook now started by IV core.
Could you now help us increase the publicity of IV on facebook among your friends so that we get more participation on IV site

This is an increase in the current visa validity of three months, single entry.
This change will allow Iranian students and exchange visitors to travel more easily, furthering our goal of promoting the free flow of information and ideas. This important decision is being taken as the global community witnesses the Iranian Government�s increasing censorship and isolation of its own people.
Iranians currently in the United States on a three-month, single-entry visa in one of these categories must reapply outside the United States at a consular post in order to obtain two-year, multiple-entry visas. Keep in mind that the validity of a visa refers to the time period the visa holder has to enter the U.S. It has no bearing on the length of stay permitted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials at the port of entry. The stamp seems a bit too cluttered, and the text is very difficult to read. Instead, have you considering adding just the pope's facial profile with the the years of his birth and death? It would be similar to the commemorative stamps of famous individuals that only feature that individual's face and nothing else.

The idea of a H1 transfer is a misnomer. Every application is a new H1. However, if you already are in a valid H1 nonimmigrant category then your new application is not subjected to the cap.

Hi,
Last year my husband got laid off. At that time he was on H1 visa, 140 approved and 485 pending. He applied and got AP, and then left U.S in March 2009. AP is valid until March 02, 2010.
Now he wants to get back to U.S. and try his luck finding a job before AP expires.
My question is what are his chances to be able to get in U.S considering
1)He has stayed outside of U.S for about 11 months.
2)He is not employed by any U.S company.

Usually, even if the employer or attorney put their address, the USCIS mails the card to the address marked as the home address of the applicant.
Note that the I-765(EAD) and AP are not mandatory forms. Talk your employer into saying "these are not required right now, we can file later". And once he files the 485 and 140, you can always file the EAD and AP yourself (or use a lawyer).
I have a feeling he's trying to keep all documentation to himself. Don't let your guard down.
Purely my opinion.

I recently found out that someone had stolen my credit card information to purchase items online. I have since then closed that credit card and went ahead and put a fraud alert for 90 days on my credit report. I don't believe my SSN was stolen, but I want to check my credit report and also for protection have the alert so that no one tries to apply for loans etc. using any of my information.
Will having the fraud alert have an impact on my 485 filing in any way? Let me know what the best process is to handle this if it does have an impact on 485 background checks, and pending green card approvals etc.
I have no criminal history.

My AP was approved while my wife's it was denied with reason "there is no pending I-485". My PD is 22 Nov 05 which is not yet current so I don't understand why they denied derivative spouses petition while mine was approved. We had an interview back in January and everything went on well there. Did anyone have similar issue? What are my options? I do not want to spend money and file for motion to reopen.

We recently assisted a client from Johannesburg, South Africa, regarding an H-1B specialty occupation visa. He was approved for an H-1B visa, but in order for our client to enter the United States, he must obtain an H-1B visa in his passport. Because the chances of visa issuance vary greatly depending on documentation and individual circumstances, we suggested that he go to the interview at the U.S. consulate very well prepared. We told him to take a certified copy of his entire H-1B package that was filed with the Immigration Service, along with his Form I-797 Approval Notice. We also suggested that he take original birth certificates, marriage certificate, and proof of financial support. He attended the interview this morning and his experience at the U.S. consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa was documented as follows.
“My wife, myself and our son had our interview at the U.S. Consulate here in Johannesburg this morning, at 9:00am. We duly arrived at 8:30am, had our relevant DS documents checked at the door, took a number, and waited for the “call.” At promptly 9:00am we were called to a booth, where our fingerprints were taken, the DS forms checked with the original I-797 form, and then told to go and sit down again. 10 minutes later, we went back to the booth, had our fingerprints taken again, and that was it. I've filed for the I-140 with EB-1 category in business, then additional evidence was requested and finally received a denial. I would like to know:
1. What are the chances to get approved after appealing?
2. If I were to appeal can I present new evidence?
3. After filing the appeal, how long should I expect to receive an answer from DC office?
4. If I ask for additional time before appealing, what are the chances that the additional time will be approved?
5. Is it better to appeal or to request a motion to reopen whenever I gather the new info to defend my case?
6. Do I have better chances if I skip both appealing and motion to reopen and focus on re filing a new case?

I got a soft lud back in December on my approved 140 on a Sunday (along with several other IV members)... but nothing since then!

If he has his Green Card and as long as it is not conditional (meaning a 2 year green card based on marriage), he should be able to apply for citizenship just like any other green card holder after satisfying all the citizenship requirements (listed in the link below):

Whm i transferred my H1B to another company, i missed filing filing for H4.
So she was having I 94 of my old company till Nov 2006.
Whn i changed company agn in Dec 06, thats whn i relised her i 94 expired, we submited I 539 for her xtension. but couldnt get it. she exited the country before 180 days of her expiration and planning to apply for new visa in India.
Did anybody had the same experience. Pls share.

I filed the 485 for my wife and myself along with the forms for AP and EAD to the Phoenix lockbox by the 1st week of September and I have not received the receipt notice. The check also has not been cashed so far. I am not sure if I still have to wait or just panic. The customer service wants me to wait for little longer. My priority dates are current now and don't want to wait for another 30 days to realize that my application was lost in the mail room.
I have a delivery notice confirmation from UPS.
Any advice would be appreciated.

since u already have a d100 no point of buying another one.. i'd say u shud go wit a D70.. its prices are dropping and hey its quality is not bad nad your lenses will fit perfeclty fine ^.^
