Hi Friends
My status is I 140 is cleared, waiting for the next step.
Question is....
My wife is on H4 and as it is difficult to get a job now and change to H1 (civil engineer),
We intend to use this time for her studies.
We need your suggestion (few people based on their own experience),
1.As we cannot afford financially to study in a full time college, we wanted to make it part time or online (whatever-which costs us less).
2.Is it good to study on H4 or betterto convert to F1 and study (so that SEVIS and further usage of it down the line!!!!)
3.If some seniors has done like this, pl advise some universities.

The backlog centers have 10 fed govt employees and 100 guys from Exceed unless I am egregiously mistaken.
Why does any one think that those 100 guys will be left out with out any jobs? Wont the 10 fed guys be moved to Chicago/Atlanta NPC's with huge reloc benefits package? If they dont choose to move because of personal reasons, Do you know what kind of severance packages they get?
100 guys from Exceed will be definitely working for other fed agencies after they are done with this gig. IRS has a huge base in Philly and Exceed is a govt contractor. May be IT consultants need to learn from these folks..

I also have LUD on my I-140 which is pending in Texas. My I-485 was sent to NSC on July 25th. I am hoping that this is something to do with the receipting of I-485.

If she uses her H4 Visa stamp to enter , will have to file H4 to H1 Chane of status to be able to work on H1.
She should be able to enter on H4. Then apply for COS from H4 to H1 when she is in US. This should take about 3 months.
If possible, get the H1 visa stamped while in India. She can then enter on H1.
I think there should not be any issues either way...

My school has a rule where 6 credit hours for grad school are considered full time, whereas for most other schools its 9 credits. Because of this I am forced to take 3 credits per semester because of my H1 status, and to remain as a part time. I dont recommend taking a risk at this stage, and though this makes me a quarter part time student, its better than taking no classes :)

Not true. It is 30 days for the asylum based apps and 90 days for the rest.
I do not have a memo or web link, however, when I went for my fingerprinting appointment I asked about the interim EAD of the processing time dragged for my husband.
I was told that there are no facilities at any local USCIS offices for the production of interim EAD's. If your application goes beyond the 90 day time limit, you have two choices. Go to the local office and ask them to send an email to the service center to ask for them to process quickly or issue interim EAD, or call the 1 800 number directly of the service center and cut out the middle man.

Yes, your reply is exactly same as her. But she added one more point. According to her The CBP officer can't deport a AP bearer. He/she has to parole the person and then can schedule a secondary check for I 140 validity. In such case my attorney can pitch in.
But I am not sure if this is true or she is being over assuring.

There is no limit on the amount of money that a person can bring in. However if a person is carrying $10 k (this includes cash, travellers check, bank draft etc) or >5k in cash then that has to be declared at customs and person should go through Red Channel.

I mailed my EAD renewal (Paper filing) with priority mail on 06/23/08 and was received at TSC on 06/26/08 but check has not been en-cashed yet and obviously no receipt. Any body in similar situation? Wanted to know how long it should take get receipt.

I find that fireworks mx is really cool for doing what you are trying to do if you can get your hands on it. Oh yeah and I think you should antialias the text a little bit. If you want honest opinions....I think the image could use a little jazzing up....Try this:
Find a nice big panoramic image like of a beach or something.. Then give it a real big gaussian blur (so that you cannt recoginze what it was)......U should already notice it looks similar to a gradient. 2. The give it a strong motion blur to the left or right (to soften the image) 3. Then do a an adjustment...hue.....and play with the saturation and settings. (You should have a pretty nice gradient looking abstract at this point). 4. Then duplicate the layer and play with that layers blend mode. I find luminosity to be cool but find one to suit your needs. That will make your text and image seem more interesting....right now it looks kinda dead in the water......I find gradients by themselves to be boring this day in age (most of the time). Let me know if you need a more indepth tutorial....this one was kinda weak but....hey

Can you start residency on EAD if you are the primary for 485? Meaning, can you use AC21 and change jobs from research to residency after 180 days from filing? Please help, really confused.

This really helped me. I just did that and find out that I have so many addresses there. As I said initially because of my job status I moved a lot within US..
But I am still confused.
For India I am clear. For the period when I was in India, I will put Indian address
But while I was in US, what addresses should I put in g-325a form - The places where I actually lived or as the addresses I put in my US tax returns ?
I have no problem in providing all US addresses, but that contradicts with my addresses in US Tax returns.
If USCIS will do background check, are they more concerned about
(a) That addresses in my tax return should match with my residence addresses in g-325a form ?
OR
(c) They are more inclined towards that addresses should match with the actual addresses where I lived ?
from annualcreditreport.com (this is a site from the 3 credit agencies), you can see all the addresses that your credit card bills went to. So there is a record of where you actually lived in the last 3-5 years.
By the way, by law you are entitled to a free credit report annually. You can get it from the afore mentioned site.

My wife's finger printing fee was rejected last month, even though we submitted the right fee.
We still submitted the fee again. In the mean while, we got our finger printing notices.
Do u know when we would get our EADs ? Is anyone in a similar situation ?

I have an LUD of 08/05/2007 on my 2006 approved I-140. I was hoping, like so many of us, that it meant CIS was entering my 485 in the system. But looking at the trend, it seems like CIS may only be gathering data on how many approved I-140 are currently in the system and make projections/plans for future work load etc.
