I believe Mbhai did a dis-service by negating good advice. What is the guarantee that the 2nd women that this guy marries will not ask for divorce? The best thing he can do is find a way to reconcile, unless there is marital infidility.
I believe "snathan" story was inspiring and addressed the true problem of that individual and every indivudual's life. Trust me, when you all get your GC's ...it will be these things that will matter to all of you, rather than anything else.

Your logic is beyond me. On one hand you seem to disagree with the practice of labor substitution but on the other hand you are more than happy to provide the recipe for it. Are you for it or against it. Or may be you are just trying to help an IV member.
It may be legal but should be discouraged to say the least.
Other than that, you will find a lot of hatred from this forum as what you are doing is very much inflaming since you are cutting in line -- legally so -- but still, its cutting in line. So dont be surprised by that.

So jsb if congressman and Ombudsman doesnt work either is there anything which will work ? Can one actually go physically to the Service Center and ask to speak to the PRO (Public relations officer) or something ?
I have heard on this forum someone doing that, i.e. flying to Texas and asking to meet those who matter. Initially they did not entertain him, but eventually he succeeded. It costs nothing trying via the Ombudsman route, may be a bit if a hassle via the Congressman route. You should try both. Mention your situation, clearly bringing out the anomally. Ask if you are cleared on all fronts and your PD is current what is holding up. It might work....Best of luck.

REDUCTION IN WEIGHTED AVERAGE
The increase in actual costs to applicants and petitioners will be only 66 percent, however, because applicants for adjustment of status will no longer be required to pay a fee to apply for interim benefits.
Currently, the I-485 fee is $325. The I-485 customer will also file an average of two Applications for Employment Authorization (I-765) and nearly half will file at least one Application for Travel Document (I-131), while an additional 20 percent of applicants will file a second. These additional ‘interim benefits’ applications allow applicants to work or travel while their status application is pending. The combined fee that applicants currently pay is approximately $800. The proposed fee structure will eliminate the need for applicants to have to pay these subsequent fees that result from processing delays. USCIS is proposing a $905 fee for the I-485 form. Folks - here is what you all do.
Please contact the Ombudsman's office. Fill out the form 7001 and explain the issue in detail and attach copies of your MTR submissions, notices etc....
Contact your Senators - go to their websites and look for constituent services and follow what is there on their website.
Contact your Congresman - usually congressman's office will give more personal attention. I recommend that you personally go to COngressman's office and talk to the immigration expert there. They will help.
Also, please feel free to contact IV with the issue. You can sed me an email and I will forward it to IV core to see what can be done.

We appreciate ur apprehension, but please do not sow unnecessary seeds of doubt. As it is, making most legal immigrants take part in this struggle, is like milking a male buffalo.
If you feel that these efforts are being wasted, then you are free to watch from the sidelines. Pls do not take this as a personal attack on u, but you are one of many many such immigrants who are sitting on this fence.
Regarding the professionalism shown by people here, i would really ask you not to attack without fully understanding the efforts taken by people who have formed this group. People have been travelling back and forth to DC to try and establish a lobbyist firm. Instead of criticizing please do your part by helping and doing something.
People have been approaching their communities for help, researching pro-immigrant organizations and working with them to get support. Even arranging for news sites to do something for us.
