Hey all,
I just efiled my EAD. (first one, not renewal). Do I need to send any supporting documents?
If so which ones?
They asked about previous EADs and I had 2 of them (one main, other interim 90 day rule) for my OPT after masters. Do I need to send a copy of those?

Moonlight, I am in a similar situation as you except that the person involved here is my spouse and the country of birth is srilanka and it is india in all her documents...i have done some research and found some interesting points for my scenario.May be we both can share info and help each other. you can mail me at nath4u@gmail.com. My wife and I are scheduled to go for fingerprinting this month. We have a year old son and obviously we are planning to take him with us as well. Do I need to take any form of ID / birth certificate of my son (obviously he is not to be fingerprinted) but not sure what the rules are with respect to carrying infants for the interview. Anyone who has fingerprinted in a similar situation?

You still have paint() event you can use to draw with. I once made a small image editor with it so it can't be too complicated to make a more advanced drawing type tool.

If you have the valid H1b stamped while your 485 is pending and got RN,FP done,you should not have any issues in POE.So are you done with your FP?? Its always safe you wait for FP and finish it and then decide your travel plans.

I travelled after 485, got h1b stamping , came baack and recently my checks also got cashed and am looking for the Reciept Notice also.
I did not have any issues anywhere.
For FP - you just have to make sure someone is checking ur mailbox so that you will know when FP date comes, and you can postphone FP to a later date when you return

Hi psychman!
In a nutshell, you can't because WebClient cannot access the file system. One thing you can do is install a web server on the machine - IIS, Apache, etc. Would that be something you would be interested in doing?

Hi .. I am on L1 with my current employer. I applied H1B through a consultancy and my petition got approved. My current employer told me that they can transfer my approved H1B to them. Is it really possible to transfer H1B to my current employer, just by having the approved petition?
Yes transfer is possible. However your current employer's h1b petition also
needs to be approved (RFEs replied to etc).

As far as I know, I think you need an approved I-140 before you can use AC21.

My H1B 6 yr limit is set to expire in July 2008. I have an EAD/AP from filing in July. I want to invoke AC21 and change jobs using EAD. I hear a lot of people mention about keeping your H1B visa just in case the I-485 application gets rejected. But even if I extend my H1, it will be based on the fact that I have applied for I-485 since I am over the 6 yr limit. In that case, won't my H1 extension be void too if the I-485 gets rejected. I am not really sure how maintaining H1B/EAD together helps people in my situation. ANy thoughts/inputs welcome.

You extend you H-1B (< 6yrs) based on approved PERM and/or approved I-140. So if your I-485 was rejected, your H-1B would be safe. However, if your employee or USCIS revoked the approved PERM/I-140, then I don't know what would happen to the extended H-1B.
If you invoked EAD and USCIS rejected your I-485, you would lose the EAD as well as the I-485 pending status because EAD was granted on your pending I-485 status.

I will request to sysadmin or IV to start some Poll covering all dates according to Visa Bulletin for EB2 and EB3 for world, India and china. This poll will help everyone to see how many people are in waiting in lines and what can be expected upcoming months ....this poll will not be pin point but will give info little close to reality... Just a thought.

Home Secretary Theresa May had introduced the cap as an interim measure before a permanent cap to be in place from April 2011. It was challenged on the ground that ministers had 'sidestepped' parliamentary scrutiny before announcing the
temporary cap.
The legal challenge to the cap of 24,100 until April 2011 was brought by the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) and English Community Care Association, and was upheld by judges on Friday.
The Home Office said this did not imperil its flagship immigration policy but the opposition Labour said the police it was in "chaos" after the court ruling.
The ruling has nullified the current temporary cap, meaning it is no longer in force.
The cap was one of the first measures of the coalition government that promised to bring down immigrations from hundreds of thousands every year to 'tens of thousands.
In today's ruling, Lord Justice Sullivan and Justice Burton concluded that the home secretary had not gone through the proper parliamentary procedures before implementing the cap, which took effect without a vote in Parliament.
The judges said: "The secretary of state made no secret of her intentions. There can be no doubt that she was attempting to side-step provisions for Parliamentary scrutiny set up under provisions of the 1971 Immigration Act and her attempt was for that reason unlawful." As a result, it said no lawful limits were now in place for Tier One and Tier Two applicants from abroad. The Home Office said it was still "firmly committed" to reducing levels of net migration. "I am disappointed with today's verdict," Immigration minister Damian Green said, adding: "We will do all in our power to continue to prevent a rush of applications before our more permanent measures are in place".

Given that you filed in Dec 2002, it is very possible that your labor petition has already been certified or at least adjudicated.
You need to talk to your company/HR and get this resolved. Impress on them the importance of knowing the status of your petition.
