Guys do not feed the freeloaders by telling anything you are reading in the donor forum. Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. Please don't give much credence to 'conspiracy theory' posts by paranoid folks like H1bmajdoor who live in fear of their own shadows. Neither do they understand the difference between a law AC21 and regulations ( USCIS frames these) nor do they care to learn. Their ignorance causes them fear, and fear causes them to act irrationally.
It's best to ignore such losers who beam negative-energy. Their penchant for inaction is a self-fulfilling prophecy that dooms their life. Nothing will happen to them in life, as they don't do anything to make things happen! . Don't join their league.

I had the same issue...
Here is the short version of how it unfolded. I've seen some quick responses from USCIS.
9/15/2010 - USCIS email indicating that cards mailed for both me and spouse
9/16/2010 - Spouse received card
9/21/2010 - Got email (LUD) that my card returned undelivered.
9/22/2010 - Called customer service updated the address
9/23/2010 - Got my card in mail (wrapped in an usps priority envelope) with tracking number
I was pleasantly surprised with the fastness of USCIS.

We as a community should oppose major violation done by these consulting firms.
The only reason these companies send people on L1 is to keep them as bonded labour giving them no chance to switch jobs. These companies can always apply for H1b for such folks, there are enough H1 visas available this year.
There is a reason there are two visa categories L1 and H1. They should not be used to circumvent immigration laws.

Guys:
Based on the June Bulletin, I will be filing my I485 in June.
Now, I have H1-B(with my current company till Feb'2010 that I just got approved a month back.(not stamped in passport yet)
-- Should I file EAD for myself ( I probably would want to change jobs after 180 days) ? Or is it better to be on H1-B.
-- Should I file AP for both myself and my wife(she is on H4) ?
Also, when I decide to change jobs using AC21 rule, is it better to tranfer
H1-B to a new company or if I have EAD, how does that work ?
Any inputs will be greatly appreciated..!!

If they are indeed genuine then there should nothing be worried about. They would come out clean. Remember, the whole labor certification is to protect the interest of American people and not foreign workers like you and me.
If DOL scrutinizes such petitioners more than others, then its good. That will weed out pretenders; but also on the other hand, that will put genuine candidates petiotions into a pre-adjudicated state.

Hi All,
I got the CPO on Sep 7, 2010. But we did not get any email about dependent application. Yesterday, I just called the customer service and spoke with level 2 officer to confirm about our cases. According to him my application is still pending with the officer and no decision has been made. I am really concerned that still no approvals. Moreover, I can not even open a SR because my status shows CPO. Btw I had my FP done on Sep 3, 2010.

I am speaking from experience. Download the forms needed for filing 485, EAD and AP. Then when your attorney send you his/her set ( normally they do this in 2 stages - one they will send you a draft copy to verify and correct all info - some have online questionnaire; stage two - they send the final forms for you to verify and sign again - this they may do paper copy or online PDF - that cannot be edited - not fill able forms).
So, here I am providing links to all forms that I know are needed. These from uscis.gov site are fill able. Weekend is coming. Fill them, and print and keep them.
When attorney sends papers, compare yours with their and do corrections in theirs ( usually it will have stamps of the firm)

Let us call rumors as pure rumors, even if they are from individuals here on IV or from aila until the official agency release their report.
Let us step back a bit and analyse it with just common sense.
USCIS and whatever that other agency is, is not a fool to release a july bulletin and make everybody current. If they have made all categories current in the hope that they want to utilize all visa numbers then this is the height of stupidity. If that was their intent, they could have moved dates 2-3 months each month starting july till September.
They should have prepared themselves for the flood of applications starting july 1st, and that is the reason for suspending the premium processing.
Make PD's current and then goingback in just couple of weeks doesn't make sense at all.
If someone has done this in haste then i doubt the overal integrity of this organization and its continuity.
When i started the rumor of possible mid july retrogression, then that was based on the flood of applications that would go by july 2nd week. I am surprised that people are now talking monday or tuesday retrogression and a possible fresh bulleting from USCIS.
Who would know the fresh july bulletin updates from USCIS other than USCIS and why would they leak that information before hand?
Why should we beleive aila?
Do an independent and individual assesment of this issue and go have a beer for the weekend.

If companies could survive with GCs and Citizens alone, they would have done it already. The fact is there aren't enough quality resources to be picked from GC/Citizen pool. That is the reason companies are willing to deal with complex immigration laws for hiring a non-immigrant worker.
Of course companies will look for cheaper and easier ways of doing things.( outsourcing route) I agree with puddonhead that threshold for outsourcing is low in these times. Vast majority of outsourcing was initiated during the last recession ( 2000- 2001).
Of course companies will look for cheaper and easier ways of doing things.( outsourcing route) I agree with puddonhead that threshold for outsourcing is low in these times. Vast majority of outsourcing was initiated during the last recession ( 2000- 2001).

The funniest thing is 3/4 of the countries on the list are part of the erstwhile British empire. How's that for irony. They loot and dominate you on one hand and subject you to inane laws on the other. Here is a classic example of what is good for the goose is not good for the gander.

Just a thought. I think something is holding back folks to write up these letters directly to president. Do you guys think it's a good idea just to have these letters mailed to IV and then pass it along to white house administration when IV meets them.
