FYI...I heard from some of my friends that Vonage is good as long as you are its customer. Once you call CS and tell them you are leaving...they play all sorts of dirty tricks.
I agree with you. I was once-upon-a-time a vonage customer, then I got reformed. :D
When you are a customer CS will treat you like God. Once you call them to cancel, they will play all kinds of tricks. They even lied to me about certain things.

Lost in all this is the fact that Punjabi wants to sell his house not because he cannot afford it anymore, but because he wants to move to a different city to a higher paying job and can't be bothered to take responsibility for his failed real estate venture. He could have done the ethical thing and stayed in his present job and paid off his loan but he is choosing not to. And who does he blame for his situation? The concept of the "American dream". So the fact that he wants to shirk his responsibilities in favor of foisting his own debt onto the rest of the country isn't his own fault, it's the "American Dream" that's making him do this. It's not exigent financial circumstances that are causing him to foreclose, it is greed and shortsightedness (colloquially known as "The American Dream"). Greed and shortsightedness already caused him to go 20K under the water. And they will now make him screw up his own credit history. If someone cannot learn from one mistake, I say let him keep making mistakes. He will soon find out how difficult life in the US can be if you don't have a good credit history. As for the burden on us taxpayers, hey, we've been spending 10 billion a week for the past 5 years dropping bombs on people, what's a mere 20K?

Wait a minute, how was this India EB2 case even allowed to file I-485 when that PD has never been current? The lawyer alleges that it has been pending for several years.
Does this "fee bill" have nothing to do with 485 filing? Is it just plain wrong or am I missing something obvious here?
Perhaps he meant September 2006.
In CP process USCIS transfer I 140 / I 130 etc to NVC as soon as they get approved. but they sit there for years before NVC thinks date will be current soon and they send out fees invoice.
I am beneficiary of I 130 ( Family based petition ) and my I 130 at NVC for almost 2 years now. and when my date will come close to current ( in next 10 years ) they will send me fees.
Hope I become US citizen before that......:)

It's always a good practice to take a receipt notice of any action done by your lawyer & keep that for your records.
When you apply for EAD, soon USCIS will ask you to do fingerprints(BIO-2). I think you missed that part and it might be denied or void as it was left for so long!
You can file for new EAD online at https://efiling.uscis.dhs.gov/efile/InteractionMgr?interactionmgr.interaction=SetupEfo rms×tamp=1127234762990
Create your account & you can file your self with out lawyer's assistance. It's always suggested to file EAD(I-765) & AP(I-131) jointly. You can pay by credit card.

(3) You have to send supportive documents for Advance Parole, like photos,brief explanation of qualifying for AP...I can give you those sample formats !

You must add I-485,EAD,AP & I-140 receipt numbers like LINXXXX and you will get emails when they get approved. Go thru these 2 links & familiarize well. Hope your I-140 has approved. Finally these are suggestions only & I am not a lawyer. Consult an immigration lawyer if you have uncanny issues.

There have been threads and posts about IOs indicating that everyone will become current. The fact of the matter is - there is no substance/proof/backing - even from the lawyers regarding the validity of those statements. For all you know, this might have been started by groups/people who want us to become complacent.
So DO call.............else the bills stand a good chance of losing out.
And even assuming the rumors are true with a 0.00001% probability.........you don't really lose anything much by calling. But if you don't call, we still stand a chance (with 99.9999% probability) of losing out.
Honestly; this might be our last chance. If the next president is a Democrat, it is quite possible that illegals might get amnesty in huge numbers. Companies hiring H1s might get taxed at a higher rate. Irrespective of who comes to power, the next president could clamp down on legal immigration in the name of Change. Remember, the illegals (their legal relations) form a larger vote bank. Nothing else matters as far as politicians are concerned.

A# is the alien number that is given to the applicant during the GC process. It is either given at 140 approval or at 485. If you have a A# in your 140 approval then you can use that # in all your 485 forms.
To answer pranju's question, yes its only for primary applicant. You can leave that field as blank for your spouse.

The real message in this thread is that you should check what is required by the countries you intend to transit BEFORE you buy your ticket.
It seems to me that an individual should take responsibility for his own actions rather than trying to blame a particular country for a long established requirement for a transit visa.

You still did not get it. Without evidence of discrimination it would be difficult to fight against... Forget this for a moment, in any law based battle you have to have a evidence. It is not that I do not want to fight or somebody do not want to fight. How could you make the base for fighting? This other guy, with his sheer luck (And with Capital One's stupidity) could get written evidence and so he has a valid base to fight against. And without evidence, whatever you write to whomsoever authirities, it would just be a blabbering. Even as one platform if IV decides to fight against this, IV team (Or lawyers whom we appoint) will ask the evidence first to make the case. Other thing, do not forget, what we could achieve in July 2007, the base was definately a first screw up from USCIS ( That is an evidence...). Once that screw up happened we could right away make it a reference and could make it a battle point.. Do you still understand or you do not want to understand?
I do understand that without evidence you can't fight the conventional way or file a law suit. It would be difficult, if not impossible. I am not debating that. I never said it would be easy. Even with evidence (in case of Capital One), one can argue if thats a good enough base for fighting and whether it will do any good if the case is won. Thats not the point.
What would you do if a recruiter or employer told you (verbal or writing) that it is their policy not to hire Indians? (I am just using India as an example).
Regardless of written evidence, I would be inclined to do something about it. I am not saying that I will file a law suit. I would probably not even want to work for such an employer. But I will not be speculating that oh, there must be some loophole that allows employers to have such a policy; because many of them are saying that, it must be legal. I will not assume that they can do this under "Hire and fire" authority. We just seem to have a little difference in opinion about that. We agree on pretty much everything else. Thats all. And frankly, its good to have an opposing perspective on things.
Now, if I hear from experts that my understanding of the discrimination laws is incorrect and that it is legal for an employer to say that they will not hire somebody with EAD, I'll just shut up. Until then, I will encourage people not to be quiet and to call the hotline, file a complaint, call the media, and pursue whatever means we have at our disposal to fight what we consider injustice and fight what we believe is discrimination as per the law.

Lets say DOS revises bulletin on july 2, does that mean applications recieved on july 2 are accepted and all applications recieved after 2 will be rejected or will USCIS reject all applications recieved on july 2 also.
I don't think any one knows the answer at this point. But I think it is better to mail applications until you see the bulletin (and dates go back). Nothing to loose except the courier fee. If USCIS want to return the applications so be it, at least you have a chance just in case they accept some (to some date).

I think we can all relate to this...
You definitely sound like my mother , who gets scared by the news that gets published in telugu news papers about gas station shootings in USA. Otherday she asked me not to goto "that gas station in Kentucky" .. I live in CA.
There is no shame in protesting injustice. Nobody who sent flowers is foolish enough to think that they will get their GC just because they sent flowers.
