Still debating on illegals... havent discussed much abt the legals. So nothing concrete has come out. Our future is still a Question Mark...
Looking at most of the remarks the senators are making, I am expecting this bill to die. Sorry for breaking the bubble, it is just a hunch

No one can guarantee you what you will be asked for. Take everything that you normally need. Legally company MUST give you pay stubs in some form (electronic or paper) if they have paid you. What is the reason for not generating pay stubs if you have worked there after I-797 approval notice or even just after filing? Visa stamp on passport is not required.

Hi all, I need help in explaining my situation if someone can help me . Here is my info that I know
EB3 ROW
PD : April 6, 2006 (PERM)
July Filer.
i140 and i485 July 2007 (Received by USCIS Texas Center September 10, 2007)
AP and EAD received September 2007
I want to understand the process so I can know the meaning of the Visa bulletin based on my situation.
I am guessing that right now I will have to wait for my i140 to be approved first before I can talk about i485. I checked the processing time for i140 at TSC and it is August 15, 2007. Any crazy estimate when I should get the approval?
Once my i140 is approved then I can look and match my PD with the visa bulletin EB3 ROW for adjustment of status.
I know there would be some more steps than these above. But are these statement above correct/incorrect?
Thank you very much
you can check the status of ur I-140 on uscis by providing ur receipt #

The Swine Flu saga continues. Mexico reported three new deaths from the swine flu epidemic Saturday and urged citizens not to let their guard down against a virus that has killed 19 in people in Mexico and is spreading across Asia and Europe.
Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova said Mexico's confirmed swine flu cases jumped to 473, including the 19 deaths. The previous death toll in Mexico was 16. A Mexican toddler also died in Texas days ago, for a worldwide total of 20.
In accordance with measures announced by the Government of Mexico to limit the congregation of large crowds to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus, the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City and the U.S. Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez advise that most consular services are being suspended. The dates listed below may change. The Embassy and Consulate General will monitor the H1N1 situation continuously during the week and will update information on our website if the dates of the suspension of service change.
Immigrant Visa operations in Ciudad Juarez have been suspended from April 30 to May 8. Immigrant visa and waiver applicants who have April 29 appointments should proceed to the Consulate. The panel physicians are closed. Those applicants who have consular immigrant visa appointments after May 8 and have not yet obtained their medical exams should not come to Juarez until the panel physicians have re-opened.
All non-immigrant visas operations in Mexico have been suspended until May 6.
Consular services for U.S. citizens throughout Mexico will be limited to emergency assistance and to citizenship applications (passports and consular reports of birth abroad, or CRBA). Anyone with passport or CRBA appointments are encouraged but not required to reschedule to a later date. For more complete information on consular operations during the flu outbreak, as well as the latest travel advisory and warden messages, visit http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/h1n1.html. I went for H1B stamping, but i know a friend of mine went for F1 (PhD) extension and had to go through the same process. I called Dept. of State multiple times, dont expect a polite response. They may even say it may take years. Thats what they told me the day before i got the visa. Dont worry your wife will get the visa eventually. Tell her to enjoy India in the mean time like i did on my forced vacation.

Ok Guys enough "PREDECTIONS" now go to bed.
Only the coming days will tell us what is going on and what will happen. Everything else is just hear-say.
Go to sleep and remember that we DO have day jobs.
Thanks eb3_nepa, I agree.

Thanks for your time and consideration. I was of the same opinion till now. But getting a little flustered lately, since my I-94 end date is 10-Jun-2011. I could not check back with my employer if they would be doing a premium one. Because once I raise any such queries, they might start the process now itself to avoid last minute submissions. Since there would be questions from them on why did I delay till now etc :(
Thats the fix I am in now.

You have to find a consulting company who have already finished all the ads and recruitment work and ready to file for PERM for someone. In this case, you can get along with this person and apply for the labor. This is very tricky as you have to find a position which meets your skills.
If you find one, don't wait to prepare for 485. Get ready everything ASAP in that case.

Its only for people who are on some kind of visa. You don't qualify for MAVNI if you have a GreenCard and looking for quick Citizenship.

If I'm not mistaken, PD is only linked to your I-140 receipt notice as it is specifically for labor authorization / certification.
As long as it shows on your I-140, you should be fine.

Hi Louisiana,
How do we go about setting up a State Chapter? Are there just the three of us from LA? I am in NOLA (d'uh, my alias is a dead giveaway).
What's the next step?

It is always good to maintain L1A status. I think best way to apply your L1A extention under premium & family under normal. I think premium fee is only for primary application & not dependent. If anything goes wrong with I140, you will be ground zero on status. In that case, You may have to leave the country immediately.

Hi,
I am currently working on a fulltime H1B and my GC process is going on with second stage (I140) in progress. Now my old employer wants me to work parttime for them which I agreed upon but this is a possibility only if I have a parttime H1B applied w.r.t old employer which I am thinking to apply for it and work parttime. But my question here is does this effect my GC processing? If it is what are the effects? Please reply me back. Thanks a lot.
Regards
