I think the developments are great!!! USCIS secretary Emilio Gonzalez posting a message on the USCIS web site - this is GREAT NEWS!!! What we're doing is being acknolwedged!! It's a sign that this is working, and those up there are forced to take notice and act on it....
It may have sounded ridiculous initially, but GANDHIGIRI seems to be working even in our case!! Some times you have to think unconventionally, out of the box (to use a much abused and cliched term), innovatively, to get the kind of results you want.
Nobody thought sending flowers would change the hearts of USCIS/Dept of State.... and they would somehow agree to accept our AOS applications...
The fact is, this development means we're getting the deserved attention, imho. Can that can be anything but good news... ?

Apple approved Vonage iPhone App.
It allows to call India for 7 cents.
It would be good if they approve Google Voice app.
Chepcent approach is good if you have internet connection handy. Maybe vonage could have made the iPhone app to be one time fee and have it linked to World Calling Plan.

I was thinking on the same line. Why to wait at the last moment and that too when today they allowed the medical examinations to be done outside the local area. I guess, time to chill out, have some beer (i'm already having) and worry on monday. We anyway can't do anything about it on sat-sun.

My attorney originally applied for my labor (regular process) in late spring 2006 but due to another issue we decided to expedite (premium process) in early winter 2006. Question is, is early spring my PD or early winter of 2066? (Sorry don't have the exact dates in front of me).

Flower campaign, I said this one week back and did not do anything on that but was requesting others to join. I did send letters twice to 6 address and sending cards again today.
How do we organize this flower camaign or anything . Shouldnt a core member start the initiative by listing the action on the headlines.
I am sure people are waiting to see Oct bulletin. But based on information we have, please be assured nothing good can be seen, unless a miracle. Wait for the next bulletin may not be as pleasant in case you are looking for a job (No I am not). Lets all shoot emails to CORE IV now, to request them to start a campaign. I think from our end that shoudl be the 1st step. Unless they get the group together, we will be headless chicken as someone said, writing in doifferent threads,

Have a questions for the Gurus...Is Credit Check performed during any of the processes related to FBI (for people who are present in the US with a SSN) ? IF so, will a Foreclosure in the credit check cause any problems or delays in adjudicating the 485 petition ?

I think we are getting noticed. With Ombudsman's office also, we initially got a very generic response - but now we are getting more specific response and asking us to provide more info. With USCIS officials it might take a bit longer but we need to keep sending letters and they will realize the issue.

Rules surrounding AC21 are confusing and they never got into rule making process. By raising this current issue - we might even get lucky in convincing USCIS to speed up the rule making process of AC21.

Some ideas are good. In order to implement them, we need support from members. Pls volunteer and take up the ideas to lead them. For example I have mentioned about poster and banner campaign. If each one of us, prints them and post them in various places, we can get good publicity.
We have to make do with such low cost volunteer work. Someone pointed out that we should contact newspapers and get articles published. Wish it was so easy. We have written tons of mails but that alone does not work. You need to issue press releases and publish them online. Publishing them each online costs a couple hundred dollars by publishing services who distribute, and there is no guarantee it will be picked up. Thus you need a focussed campaign for it. There are services where you can contact reporters and media on a specific topic and send them email, press release directly. If they are already writing article you can know the deadline. If you have an idea, you can pitch a story idea to the reporter directly. A good service I know costs 5K for non profits for one year. If you need access to International reporters database add 2k to it. All this is possible only if we have these kinds of resources. When we can hardly get contributions of 5k in 4 months after collecting $5 each, it is tough to plan a big media campaign. The reason why other big organizations and big anti immigrant orgs can get so much publicity is that they probably can spend their huge resources on such services. They can also afford a full time staff. We do not have all that and run IV along with our full time day time jobs. Just my 2 cents... Don't think USA is like India where you can do something forcefully. Why don't you guys understand the real problem of USCIS.

Without legislative or administrative reform, EB3-India would be reduced merely to a mechanism which folks would use to extend their H1Bs indefinitely on the basis of the underlying I-140, or a means to lock a priority date while they plan their strategy for an EB-2 petition for a PD port in the future. As some analysts have predicted, EB3-India wait times might get extended to decades without some sort of reform. Not to make light of the situation, but for an EB3-I applicant with a recent PD, the odds of getting a green card through a US-born child (once they turn 21) could become greater than through their own EB application.

I am all for it, and would support it in whatever way possible. Although not sure how it would work. It would require a gigantic change in the US laws.
I am here for past 11 years paying all possible taxes. Fortunately i was able to file 485 in 07, thru my second gc filing. Bought a house in '06 in a bold move, with the hope that gc would come thru sooner or later. Overall happy with the move to my own house (though the house value has dropped considerably since). Waiting is really painful, but I'll continue to maintain a positive outlook till then.
